Join University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) staff for an introduction to environmental satellite training resources accessible online through COMET/MetEd (http://www.meted.ucar.edu). Participants will learn about the suite of GOES and JPSS training materials available, including multilingual versions of courses, and have the opportunity to work through select MetEd lessons.
The sessions will introduce users to the new capabilities made possible by NOAA’s next generation GOES-R Series Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI), Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM), Space Weather instruments and derived products for improved environmental intelligence, forecasts, and warnings. The Third Session of the WMO Coordination Group on Satellite Data Requirements for Regions III and IV (RA-3-4-SDR) meeting will be held on the City College of New York (CCNY) campus on 16 and 19 July, 2017 This event is by invitation only.
The goal of this meeting is to assist in ensuring readiness of users in RA III and IV to receive and use new-generation satellite data, to ensure continuity of data services, and to discuss data dissemination on the extended bandwidth of GEONETCast-Americas Broadcast.
